Thank puck: GAA Cúl Camps set to return to Kilkenny pitches next month
There’s great news for all the kids across Kilkenny after the GAA announced that Cúl Camps will be coming back next month.
From Monday July 20 kids across the county can pick up their hurls and helmets and tie up those boots and head out to the field for the hugely popular Kelloggs / TG4 GAA Cúl Camps, all of which will be run to the highest safety standards and protocols.
The GAA have confirmed that due to social distancing practices some venues may have to run with a reduced capacity, so early registration is advised to avoid any disappointment.
The GAA Cúl Camps, in conjunction with Kellogg’s and TG4 will start on Monday, July 20 and a list of venues will be confirmed on the cúl camp website gaa.ie/kelloggsculcamps on June 22 when bookings open.
In a new venture for this year’s camp, the GAA has decided to broadcast a TV show called GAA Cúl Camp TV , to get the kids warmed up for the camps themselves.
A Waterford company called Nemeton has been chosen by the GAA to produce the interactive programme which will be broadcast twice a day, Monday to Friday from10.25am to 11.00am and repeated at 5.15pm, from Monday June 29 until Friday July 17th.
GAA Cúl Camp TV will also be available on the TG4 player making the return to camp activity, both live and on demand, available to everyone at home and abroad.
The programme will be presented by Gráinne Bleasdale who has had many roles on stage and television, as a puppeteer and as a presenter, including Operation Transformation -10@10 (RTÉ), Ros na Rún (TG4), Déan É! (TG4), Dig In Saol Faoi Shráid (TG4).
The series will include skills, drills, games, nutrition, and wellness segments that will appeal to all the family from multiple All-Ireland winning Cork Camogie and Football star, Rena Buckley, Dublin hurler Liam Rushe and former Donegal footballer star Kevin Cassidy.
