‘The tracks were gone’ – thieves steal digger from field outside Kilkenny village

By COLIN BARTLEY

A DIGGER that couldn’t be driven has been stolen from a field outside a Kilkenny village.

The orange mini-digger was parked in a field on the Bog Road in Piltown, but was stolen between 9pm Wednesday, October 16 and 9am Monday, October 21.

A local Garda spokesperson told KilkennyNow.ie: “The digger is not in a drivable condition as there is some damage to the fusebox and the tracks.

“The culprits would have had to have a trailer and equipment to remove the digger, as the tracks were gone and it’s a heavy item.”

Anyone with information about the theft or who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area at the time is asked to contact Mooncoin Garda Station at 051 895 122.
