WATER WARNING: Homes and businesses in city and county face outages
HOUSEHOLDERS and business in parts of the city and county have been warned they face disruptions to their water supplies today and tomorrow.
Some homes in Callan and surrounding areas have been without water since 7am this morning as leak detection works get underway.
Irish Water warned “supply may take 2-3 hours to fully return to all affected properties”.
Freshford and parts of the city will also be affected by water outages tomorrow and Thursday.
Mains rehabilitation works will affect supplies to Freshford Village and surrounding areas from 8pm tomorrow until 8am on Thursday.
A traffic management plan will also be in place for the duration of these works.
Meanwhile, ongoing works in the Irishtown and Dean Street area will also cause disruptions to water supply in the city tomorrow and Thursday.
These works are due to begin at 8pm tomorrow and will last until 6am the following morning.
Irish Water advised householders: “We recommend that you allow 2-3 hours after the estimated restoration time for your supply to fully return.”
A traffic management plan will also be in operation for the duration of these works.
Irish Water and Kilkenny County Council apologised for the inconvenience caused to those affected by the works.
