BERT ALERT: Another weather warning issued for Kilkenny; thousands of homes still without power
The of thousands of homes and businesses are still without power after the storm wreaked havoc across Ireland.
Donegal and the west of the country were particularly hard hit as the storm brought torrential rain and winds gusting close to 110kmh overnight.
Council crews, fire services and the ESB were out in force today to tackle flooded roads, downed trees and power outages nationwide.

A Status Red warning – the highest level of alert – expired for Cork and Galway at 10am.
However, another Status Yellow for Kilkenny, as well as neighbouring Carlow, Waterford, Wexford and Cork, Kerry and Wicklow issued today will remain in place until 2am tomorrow.
In an update this afternoon, ESB confirmed 34,000 homes and premises were still without power. It said teams were working nationwide to restore power to those cut off by Storm Bert.
