Kilkenny gardai not treating discovery of woman’s body in her home as suspicious
GARDAI say they are not treating as suspicious the tragic discovery of an elderly woman’s body at her home in Castlecomer.
The woman’s body was discovered when the driver of a food delivery van attempted to drop groceries at her home.
The man alerted the emergency services and gardai arrived at the scene a short time later.
Two ambulances arrived at the house and paramedics eventually managed to gain entry to the house.
However, it is believed the woman may have been dead for several days. It is understood she was surrounded by her pet cats when she was found.
Kilkenny gardai tonight confirmed there is no Garda investigation into the woman’s death.
The woman’s remains were transferred to University Hospital Waterford for a post-mortem examination.
