Burglars make off with equipment from sports club in South Kilkenny
A sports club which caters for over 200 people, and many young people in South Kilkenny, was targeted by burglars who made off with grounds maintenance equipment.
Burglars broke into a storage unit at the Carrick-on-Suir Rugby club in Tybroughney, county Kilkenny sometime after a training session on Tuesday, March 10.
At 10am the following morning, Wednesday, March 11, a club member discovered that a window to the rear of the clubhouse had been smashed but the burglars failed to gain entry. However, the burglars did manage to break into a storage unit beside the clubhouse and made off with equipment need for the maintenance of the pitches.
This is the latest in a series of incidents in the area around Piltown and Mooncoin where family homes and businesses have been targeted by burglars.
