Garda chopper used to track down gang of Kilkenny burglars

The Garda Helicopter was instrumental in hunting down a gang of burglars caught breaking into a premises in Kilkenny last night.

A  manhunt was launched for two men who managed to escape the clutches of gardai at the scene of the burglary in the Johnswell area of Kilkenny city late last night.

Gardai arrested one man at the scene, but another two men fled and a manhunt ensued.

The gardai called in the helicopter unit to assist local gardai working on the ground to find the men. After searching for a number of hours, the other two men were eventually found and arrested.

A significant amount of tools and building equipment were recovered.

The three men are currently being questioned in Kilkenny Garda Station in relation to the burglary.
