Kilkenny gardai warn local motorists: ‘Checkpoints here to stay, please slow down’
Gardai have warned Kilkenny motorist that checkpoints (like the one pictured above in Templemartin today) will be around for some time to come due to the current Covid restrictions.
They have urged drivers to “please slow right down upon approach even if being waved through”.
A local Garda spokesperson added: “Garda members are extremely vulnerable on these checkpoints and HGVs at even marginal speed present dangers. Other motorists can also play their part. A huge thank you to everyone for their cooperation.”
