Large development of family homes planned for centre of Kilkenny town

A new development of 38 homes is being planned for Urlingford.

Developer and architect, Martin Larkin of Bennettsbridge, is looking to build the homes at Mill Road just off the Main Street.

On the application to Kilkenny County Council, Mr Larkin states the land upon which he would like to build is not zoned.

Mr Larkin is looking to build 37 three-bed homes and a two-bed home on a more than two-hectare site behind the Centra Store on Urlingford’s Main Street.

As part of the plans, 84 car spaces will also be provided. Some 350sqm of derelict buildings on the site would be demolished to make way for the development.

A decision by the local authority on whether the development can go ahead is expected by mid-August.
