LATEST: 365 new cases of virus confirmed as half adult population now vaccinated

A further 365 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this evening, a decrease of 197 on yesterday’s figures.

The Department of Health reported 51 people are being treated for the virus in hospitals, three more than yesterday’s total.

14 people are now being treated in Intensive Care Units, also the same as yesterday’s figure.

However, the department warned the number of cases may change due to future data validation amid the disruption caused by the cyber attack on the HSE’s system.

Up to today, over 4.3 million coronavirus jabs have been administered t, with 49.6% of adults fully vaccinated. More than two-thirds of all adults have received at least one jab.

The Health Minister Stephen Donnelly today tweeted: “By the end of today half our adult population will have full vaccination.

“This will continue to grow in the days and weeks ahead,” he concluded.
