LATEST: Human remains found in blazing car believed to be those of missing teen

Gardaí suspect body parts found in a burning car in Dublin this morning and further remains discovered in a separate part of the city are linked to a missing teenager.

The 17-year-old was last seen in Drogheda, Co Louth on Sunday.

Human remains were discovered in a vehicle in Drumcondra, north Dublin this morning. They were found after a fire was extinguished in the car in the early hours.

The emergency services had been called to a location off Clonliffe Road, near Croke Park, where a car was ablaze.

Gardaí believe the find may be linked to the discovery of limbs found stuffed in a bag in Darndale on Monday night.

Gardai today said a forensic examination of the Drumcondra location is to take place. The scene has been sealed off for technical examination.

The remains will be tested for DNA matches to the limbs, which were found in a plastic bag on the side of a road in the Moatview housing estate in Darndale.
