No new deaths but 98 new cases as cost of salary support scheme tops €2.9bn
There were no new deaths from Covid-19 in the Republic of Ireland in the last 24 hours, the HSE said this evening.
The total death toll here is now 1,777 while the number of confirmed cases has now reached 29,303 after another 98 were diagnosed.
Meanwhile, the bill for the Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme is €2.9bn, new figures from the Revenue Commissioners show.
Since September 1, the TWSS expired and was replaced by the Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme which will run until March 31, 2021, with different criteria.
