Scenic county Kilkenny walkway littered with beer cans

Gardai have urged litter louts not to pollute local beauty spots.

It comes after a scenic area in county Kilkenny was littered by empty beer cans.

A local Garda spokesperson said: “What could be nicer than a pleasant walk on the Sion Road out of Bennettsbridge? Plenty, when those who don’t appreciate their surroundings litter the ditches with empty beer cans.

“All the one brand so likely the same offender(s). Littering is against the law. Please do not hesitate to call us or the local authority if you encounter this behaviour. In the meantime, we hope the culprit is mortified.”
