WEEKEND WEATHER: More glorious sunshine today, but clouds loom on horizon

By COLIN BARTLEY
ENJOY it while it lasts folks – it looks like the sun is packing its bags and flying off to sunnier climes over the coming days.
Unfortunately, today could be the last of this spell of good weather, with the weekend and the first couple of days of next week becoming cloudier, muggier and a chance of some showers.
In its latest forecast, Met Éireann said the outlook for the week ahead is for more cloudy, showery conditions, but there will some sunny periods mixed in.
Today will see the best of the sun, with temperatures reaching up to 22 degrees. Saturday will be much cooler, just 16 degrees and cloudy.
The clouds are not going to clear Sunday or the start of next week, and the chance of showers will remain. It will be very sticky too, with the temperature expected to reach 21 or 22 degrees by Tuesday.
