WEEKEND WEATHER: Calm after the storm
By COLIN BARTLEY
WHILE the worst, if that is what you can call it, of Storm Lorenzo hit Kilkenny in the past couple of hours as we slept, the remnants of the weather front will linger for today before the weather picks up for the weekend.
Today will be blustery and wet, with lots of showers and strong winds but nothing to fear as much as Storm Lorenzo was meant to bring. The worst will have passed by late this evening and this should see the start of more settled weather.
Tonight will be mild, dry and calm, with temperatures overnight up to 12c.
Saturday morning will start wet, there will be showers around interspersed with some sunny spells. The winds will have completely died down and temperatures should remain up around 15c or 16c.
Overnight will bring a few showers but this will lead into a nice start on Sunday morning, which will be bright, sunny and warm. There may be a few clouds around but there will be no rain and little wind. Temperatures will remain around 16c.
Next week so far is looking mainly sunny with some showers, the nights may feel chilly though with overnight temperatures falling all the way down to 4c or 5c.
