WEEKEND WEATHER: Kilkenny to bask in glorious sunshine over coming days
Kilkenny is set to bask in glorious sunshine and warm temperatures for the next three days.
Met Éireann indicated that temperatures could soar to as high as a balmy 19C in some parts of the country – matching highs predicted for Nice on the French Riviera this weekend.
The national forecaster said today be a dry bright day, but warned there will be “more high cloud about with hazy sunny spells” and highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees.
Tomorrow will also be a dry, sunny day, although Met Éireann said it may be “a little hazy at times in Leinster”. The forecaster said: “Highest temperatures of 12 to 18 degrees coolest near southern and eastern coasts in mostly moderate easterly breezes, becoming fresh along southern coasts.”
Sunday, again, will be mostly sunny, “becoming hazy at times with just some intermittent passing cloud”, according to the national forecaster, which added: “Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees generally, moderate easterly breezes will hold highs at 10 to 13 degrees in eastern and southern coastal counties, pushing into parts of the midland also.”
Good sunny spells are also on the cards for Monday, with Kilkenny avoiding the increasingly cloudy weather forecast for Ulster in the afternoon as temperatures rise to between 11 to 17 degrees.
Met Éireann said early indications suggest “high pressure will weaken Monday night with a cooler but mostly dry northerly airflow setting in”.
