Students from three schools in Waterford have been identified as “high risk” cases for the coronavirus after recently returning from trips to Italy, it is being reported.

The Irish Examiner is reporting the student groups, from three different Waterford schools, have returned from Italian trips in recent days, having spent time in the Trentino, Andalo and Folgaria regions of Nothern Italy.

The Examiner is reporting one school group returned back from Italy last Friday, February 21, another on Saturday, February 22 and the third school returned home yesterday.

The groups are under the watch of the Health Service Executive and there are no confirmed cases.

It has emerged the HSE is also monitoring a school in Dublin whose students also returned from a trip to Italy, while students in a school in county Kildare are also being watched.

A meeting of the National Public Health Emergency Team is currently taking place, where more precautions, if any, will be announced later today.
