Unique inclusive play set for Kilkenny stage

AN INNOVATIVE and unique play, a winner of a Dublin Fringe Festival Award, is on stage in Kilkenny tonight.

‘My Dad’s Blind’ is a very innovative play that uses audio description throughout the performance, aimed at giving the visually impaired the same theatre experience as the other patrons.

The play centres on a dysfunctional relationship between a blind father and his sighted daughter. Using audio recordings, this irreverent comedy and real-life memoir explores the relationship between father and daughter through awkward, embarrassing and ridiculous ways they struggle to navigate a sighted world with a guide dog that’s just had a stroke.

My Dad’s Blind is on in the Watergate Theatre this evening.
