Are we on the right road? Public’s opinion wanted on plans to complete Kilkenny’s N25
A multi-million euro infrastructure project which could transform lives in South Kilkenny is asking for public input which will be taken on board before deciding the road’s final route.
Public consultation regarding the 13km stretch of road scheduled to be built between Slieverue and New Ross is now open.
The consultation is looking for the public’s opinion on the preferred of the six Route Corridor Options for the N25 Waterford and Glenmore Road Scheme, the last piece of the more than 20 year jigsaw linking the Waterford by-pass to the New Ross by-pass, a 36km route along the N25.
Kilkenny County Council in partnership with Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) have this week announced the commencement of a non-statutory consultation on the preferred route.
Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council, Cllr Peter ‘Chap’ Cleere commented “I welcome the advancement of this project and the commencement of the public consultation process. The Council and TII are doing all possible to engage with the public in these times where it is not possible to hold public meetings.
“Therefore, I encourage people to take this opportunity to have their say in shaping this project,” Mayor Cleere concluded.
Given that the COVID-19 restrictions are continuing, the council are seeking the public’s engagement through an on-line consultation. Interested parties can provide feedback via a questionnaire which is available to download or complete on-line via the web site n25waterford2glenmore.ie and submissions can be made up until June 26.
