Driver arrested and €60,000 worth of cannabis seized at local Garda checkpoint
A driver was arrested after local gardai seized cannabis worth an estimated €60,000 at a checkpoint.
The motorist was stopped by detectives from the Carlow-Kilkenny division at the checkpoint last week. He was subsequently charged with drugs offences.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident gardai found cocaine valued at €900 during a planned search of a property in the Begnelstown area.
A local Garda spokesperson said: “Investigations are ongoing.”
